Ankara Development Agency and Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges accomplished “Innovative Ankara Project Market “ activity in order to increase the “local development” capacity of the region.
Nihat Ergün, Minister of Science, Industry and Technology, Alaaddin Yüksel, Governor of Ankara, Assoc. Prof. Asım Balcı, The Secratary General of Ankara Development Agency, Faik Yavuz, Deputy President of Turkey Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, a large number of non-governmental organisations, enterpreneurs and top-level companies participated in the activity “Innovative Ankara Project Market” being held in RIXOS Hotel.
In his opening remarks Assoc. Dr. Asim Balci, General Secretary of the Agency for International Development stated that Ankara, Innovative Project Market activity is important not only bringing out the entrepreneurial spirit of Ankara but also its possible contributions to the 2023 vision of Turkey.
Governor of Ankara, Alaaddin Yüksel , ‘the path of a world city claiming to be a trade passes from the value and importance that is given to entrepreneurship’ Stating that Ankara is a trade and a city of world, Mr Yüksel said that: ‘Smart cities encourages entrepreneurship. They are trying to do the requirements of sustainable development. We are now the base of informatics, a city of information base. Especially, onwards the new year will bring our feature louder.’
Governor Yüksel expressed, ‘Ankara is the city that poseses most of the Turkey’s community dynamism within its scope, Turkey’s entire half of the 123 defense industry, 6 out of 39 technopolis are in Ankara. Yuksel, added that Ankara is now become an IT base.
Deputy Chairman Faik Yavuz attended the meeting as a representative of Turkish Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodity TOBB’u temsilen toplantıya katılan , Başkanvekili Faik Yavuz , etkinliğin memur kenti olarak bilinen Ankara’da yapılmasının hem kentin, hem de Türkiye’nin sanayi konusunda girdiği doğru yolun göstergesi olduğunu söyledi.

He added that , for young people who want to implement their technological ideas , they grant of 100 thousand TLs, and allocate places fort hem in technoparks. , Mr Ergün continued: ‘ Within the framework of this Project we have granted support for 450 young people up until now. An important part of them has began to operate in sectors such as information, software, electronics and machinery sectors. Until next year we are going to send some of those beneficiaries of technopreneurship in groups of 10 to the United States for 3-month intervals. He said that these people will stay for 3 months in Silicon Valley and will meet with other technopreneurships from other countries’
LEADING BUSINESS ANGELS FOR ENTREPRENEURS
Minister Nihat Ergün stated that there are share holder, Pioneer business angels who support young entrepreneurs in the world and he continued his words: ‘ Nowadays, the concept of business angels is becoming more of an issue for us as well’ I’d like to say in the first place to the initiatiors: They should be real business angels.They should be business angels in order to contribute to the young people’s initiatives. As you know Azrael is also an angel. They shouldn’t be an angel like Azrael. Unfortunately we see the examples. There shouldn’t be a thought of ‘I’m going to get hold of the company, embody it, own it and I get profit out of it.’ If so, this wouldn’t be something angelic.
In recent years, particularly in the United States he has come together with representatives of major companies in his visits in various countries all over the world, he added; in the U.S.A venture capital funds are used to support innovative projectsErgün ;”
Those who are in the 1st stage from 2012, and will bring their projects at a certain stage and in need of new support and those who are in the 2nd stage, will be supported through TUBITAK with a second subsidy and those will be elected among persons who have received technopreneurship support.
These persons will be given to the grant of 500 thousand pounds said Minister Ergün, In the 3re stage these technoentreprenaurs will meet their business angels and be partners with them. In the 4th stage those companies will either become large companies or will set up partnerships with national or international big firms.
Minister Erguün said that they received 724 applicants for technoprenourship capital subsidy last year, and 1598 applicants for this year.. .
THOSE WHO BECAME EXPORTERS IN 2-YEAR PERIOD
Kazim Yildirim (2010): has developed air-conditioning systems for the manufacture of a highly energy-efficient air duct channel prototype machine. He generated sales of 225 thousand pounds exportation.
Ebru Arslan (2009): Has developed a computer system within the scope of National Real Time Operating System project. Has signed a $ 465 thousand of exportation.
Bener Karadeniz(2009):Has developed quick mold change systems in the presses and began to work with companies such as Toyota Arçelik. This year has sold a total of 391 thousand 613 TLs.
After the meeting, awards were given to the successful entrepreneurs. The Minister Ergün and the Governor of Ankara Aladdin Yüksel opened ‘Ankara Innovative Project Market’ and visited the project market of produced products.
